More Wedding Fun!

This past weekend we had our good friends - Deborah and Jon - come stay with us because we were all going to a wedding of our other good friends - Lauren and Roy. They brought their 10-month-old adorable little girl Julia with them, and Grady fell in love with her! :)

We had a great time at the wedding, and (as usual) Grady danced all night with anyone and everyone! It's so fun to see him enjoying himself on the dance floor because he is a tad shy at times. He really comes out of his shell though when he hears music! (This video is really dark, but you can probably make Grady out amidst the camera flashes.)

Dancing with the beautiful bride! (This is outfit #2 since Grady's suit was covered in dirt and grass stains by the end of the ceremony because it was an outdoor wedding and had rained earlier.)

Here is Grady is giving Julia a tour of the house (well, the toybox) prior to heading off to the wedding. Once we were at the wedding, he wanted to know where she was at all times. We must have heard, "Where's Julie?" (as he calls her...he'll get her name right eventually) a million times! :)

After Deborah, Jon and Julia headed home on Sunday, I for some reason had the brilliant idea that we should all go to the State Fair since it was the last day. Why I ever thought the State Fair would be fun at 38 weeks pregnant is beyond me! After walking about two miles from the car just to get in, I quickly realized this wasn't such a great idea after all. Once we got our tickets, the aroma of all kinds of different meat being cooked almost did me in. (The picture below says it all!) There were so many people at the fair that day that we literally could barely move.... just trying to get in meant you'd either get turkey leg remnants on you (since it seemed every single person there was eating one) or you'd get hit in the head by a five-foot tweetie bird that someone won! Needless to say, we didn't stay long (although we did manage to eat a fried snickers, which was definitely good)! :)

Hanging out with friends...

Earlier this evening we got together with some good friends who we haven't seen in quite a while since we moved - the Pulley family! :) They were our next door neighbors in our old house...we used to meet in our cul-de-sac quite often while the boys ran around and played, and that is something we definitely miss! Luckily, we still live close enough to get together. Since they don't have a blog of their own (we're trying to convince them to start one), we vowed to dedicate our next post to them (he he). In the meantime, we also told them that we would give everyone an update on what they've been up to.... This weekend they spent time searching for the "World's Tiniest Woman" at the State Fair (unsuccessfully) and eating Chinese food (with a random child whose parents own the restaurant they were in). Oh- and Jason gave himself a haircut. :) That's for you Meredith and Jason (as promised)! :)

Twinkle Twinkle ABC's!

Since Grady has started pre-school, he has learned lots of new songs to add to his collection of songs he learned at home! His favorites are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (or "Tinkle Tinkle Yiyyle Tar" as he calls it), The Alphabet song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow (which Brandon started singing to him when he was really little...Grady calls this the "Somewhere song"), Silent Night (which I always sang to him and still do...even when it's not Christmas time), and most recently the Thomas the Train song. Grady's teachers tell us all the time that he just loves music time (singing and dancing), which of course thrills us because we're always in awe of anyone with musical talent (since we have none).
As Grady is learning new songs, he will often times combine lyrics from different songs together when he sings, which is quite honestly really funny to listen to. We've been trying to get one of his songs on video for a while now, but the second we go to tape him he gets a bit shy and won't sing. Last night after dinner though (while he was waiting for us to finish), he decided to do a little performance for us (and suprisingly let me tape it). This is a combination of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Alphabet song. (Like I mentioned, he had just finished dinner, which is why his face is covered in food!)

The Pumpkin Patch!

Last weekend we decided to head to the pumpkin patch.... It was a bit earlier than we usually go, but we figured we'd better squeeze it in now in the event little guy #2 decides to come early. Despite the 83 degree temperature (a little hard to get in the Fall mood with that), we had a lot of fun! Grady especially enjoyed the hay ride, feeding the goats and attempting to pull his pumpkin off the vine.

This is me with my TWO pumpkins! :)

A mini Brandon....they look just alike!

Entering Week 36!!

Here is the newest pregnancy profile picture - just taken today! And yes, I completely realize that I am HUGE! All I have to say is that the last month is pretty brutal...even more so the second time around. I keep telling my doctor I think this little guy is going to literally fall out, but she assures me that won't happen! I will of course be very open to him "falling out" quickly during labor though!
Here is a picture of me holding my TWO boys! :)

Last days of Summer....First days of Fall!

Here are just some pictures from the last month! We had a good Summer, but we're definitely excited to see the first signs of Fall (as we both really enjoy cooler weather).

Grady picking up the paper!

Doing some yardwork!

And then taking a break in the shade! (That was hard work!) :)

Here is Grady enjoying some ice cream (or "anu" as he likes to call it for some reason)! :) Oh- and by the way- this cup of ice cream looks way bigger in this picture than it actually was...and he shared with Brandon! :)

Visiting Pinehurst!

We were able to make one last trip - to Pinehurst - before our new addition arrives in a few weeks! Grady of course always loves going to Mimi and Popeye's house, and this trip was no exception. He thoroughly enjoyed walking on the "choo choo track" that Popeye built. He also does not like for either of them to leave his sight for even a minute! I think we must have heard, "Where's Mimi?" or "Where's Popeye?" about a million times that weekend....and that was when they walked into the other room!

For those of you who don't know, my mom is a master at upholstery and sewing! (Actually both of my parents are masters at about a million different things...as you just read, my dad built a decorative wall outside for a little garden area!) I have been wanting to learn upholstery (and sewing) for a while now, so when I found an old rocking chair for $30 at a consignment shop I thought this would be the perfect opportunity! For some reason I actually thought this project could be done in a weekend....well, I was definitely wrong about that. My mom and I spent over two hours in the fabric store (luckily the guys stayed home) and ended up picking out fabric for the rocking chair, as well as for couch pillows, a toy box bench and even for an art project I came up with! It was a lot of fun, and my eyes were opened up to about a million different possibilities once I actually had some of these skills! The only other thing we were able to do regarding the chair that weekend was to take off the existing fabric, which was definitely more labor intensive than I realized! Here is a before and after picture of the rocking chair. Unfortunately, we had to head home before the chair was actually re-upholstered....but my mom is going to finish that part since we kind of have a lot going on in the next couple of months! I'm still planning on learning one day- I will put a picture up of the finished product once it's done!

I did manage to make four pillow slip covers for our couch after learning how to use the sewing maching! Well, I made three successfully and soon realized after finishing the fourth one that I did it completely wrong! Needless to say, that one is still in Pinehurst being repaired!
