Celebrating 5 years!

On March 25, we celebrated our five-year anniversary! We were so lucky in that my parents agreed to watch the boys for us so we could have a weekend away...thanks again Mimi and Popeye! While we REALLY enjoyed sleeping in and relaxing, we definitely missed our little guys. The boys of course had a great time with Mimi and Popeye!
Here is a picture of us from our wedding day five years ago!

And this is me five years later..... I would say this is pretty accurate. Exhausted and frazzled! he he... only kidding. (Grady drew this of me last week, and I absolutely love it! This is pretty much what my hair looks like every day! Last time I checked I didn't have a goatee though.) :)

Other than that, we've just been enjoying the warm weather! We pretty much play outside every afternoon and are generally outside when Brandon gets home from work. Here is the greeting he gets from the boys almost everyday. He can barely get out of the car!

Grady and I have also been doing a lot of planting in the yard, which has been fun. I usually have a helper for about five minutes before he decides that he'd rather go play, but that's okay. :)  The other day he went over to the hose and started filling a bucket up with water. When I asked him what he was doing, he told me, "I'm giving the mosquitos and fleas water because they are thirsty." I thought that was so cute. It's just hilarious what little people say. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I'd rather him squash the mosquitos. Here are some pictures of the boys playing outside....

Landon taking a motorcyle ride in the woods. :)

Landon is pretty much obsessed with the mail, so every afternoon we walk (or ride in the wagon) down to the mailbox to check the mailbox. He always gets a piece of junk mail to play with, which just makes his day!

Landon turned 17 months on April 11, which is hard to believe! He is just so much fun and a really funny little guy. He loves playing tricks - like pretending to give us something and then pulling it away, at which point he dies laughing! He is also talking a lot, and his new favorite thing to say is "No way!" We definitely see him asserting his independence a lot lately...he even says "No!" and "No way!" to things he really wants just because he likes the fact that he can say it.. If he doesn't get his way, he lays down and bangs his head on the floor, which causes him to get more upset and cry because he hurt his head! We've learned over the years that the best thing to do in these situations (with this age) is nothing. So, we just wait for it to pass, and then he snaps out of it and acts like it never happened. Too funny! Here is a video of him in action with his "No!" and "No way!"

Landon has always had blonde, slightly wavy hair. Lately it's becoming kind of curly, especially when it's humid or wet, and I absolutely love it!

In other news, we finally got Grady a twin bed since he was pretty much growing out of his toddler bed. He loves it! This was his first night in his big bed.

We took the boys to the new bounce house in Raleigh last weekend, and we all had a great time!
